FFWD - Garlicky Crumb-Coated Broccoli

I love these super easy Dorie recipes.

Garlic is cooked in butter until fragrant, then bread crumbs are toasted/sauteed in the butter until they have absorbed the lovely flavors. Lemon zest and herbs are added for more flavor. Cooked broccoli is tossed in the bread crumbs and then served. That's it.

Easy, fast, and delicious. We loved this recipe. Broccoli is already a favorite veggie in our house but this elevated it to another level. The crumbs don't actually coat the broccoli, they maintain their own identity adding crunch and flavor. I used panko bread crumbs and they worked beautifully. The lemon zest adds a bright note and I think a little squeeze of the juice would be nice as well.

Another awesome recipe from Around My French Table.

  2. Wish I'd used panko, mine were not crunchy at all. Still yummy. But the crunch would have been nice.

  10. I used a panko-like white rice crumbs which is gluten-free and it's a whole lot crunchier once cooked. Yours look equally lovely!

  13. Nana and I both loved this recipe as well. It was absolutely amazing. I give points for easiness on any French Friday, but easiness with inexpensive ingredients that are typically on hand ? A big winner indeed.
