I love these super easy Dorie recipes.
Garlic is cooked in butter until fragrant, then bread crumbs are toasted/sauteed in the butter until they have absorbed the lovely flavors. Lemon zest and herbs are added for more flavor. Cooked broccoli is tossed in the bread crumbs and then served. That's it.
Easy, fast, and delicious. We loved this recipe. Broccoli is already a favorite veggie in our house but this elevated it to another level. The crumbs don't actually coat the broccoli, they maintain their own identity adding crunch and flavor. I used panko bread crumbs and they worked beautifully. The lemon zest adds a bright note and I think a little squeeze of the juice would be nice as well.
Another awesome recipe from Around My French Table.
Sounds so simple yet so delicious
ReplyDeleteI also used panko bread crumbs. Glad you enjoyed the dish!
ReplyDeleteWish I'd used panko, mine were not crunchy at all. Still yummy. But the crunch would have been nice.
ReplyDeleteAmen on the easy recipes! I like the thought of the panko. MMMMM
ReplyDeleteI used Panko too I thought the whole thing was delicious!
ReplyDeleteLove your handled pan...very cute!
ReplyDeleteI agree...I love these easy recipes especially with good flavors and texture dressing up our usually plain broccoli, etc. We totally enjoyed this recipe at our house.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a winner! I could cook this dish every day- glad you liked it too. I'd like to try it with panko for even more crunch.
ReplyDeleteI used panko too. This is a great recipe.
ReplyDeleteI really love these fast and simple dishes of Dorie's as well and especially when they have the flavor like this recipe does. Your pan is really cute.
ReplyDeleteI used a panko-like white rice crumbs which is gluten-free and it's a whole lot crunchier once cooked. Yours look equally lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love your serving dish. I love cooking with panko, though I didn't use for this recipe.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there's nothing but LOVE for this one from all of us! Your serving dish is great!
ReplyDeleteNana and I both loved this recipe as well. It was absolutely amazing. I give points for easiness on any French Friday, but easiness with inexpensive ingredients that are typically on hand ? A big winner indeed.
ReplyDeleteWe've made quite a few easy recipes. I like that too. I'll be making this one again!
ReplyDeleteLove your serving dish! I love panko and always have a bag in my freezer :)
ReplyDeleteSince the eclairs are going to be a little more complicated, it was nice to have an easy dish this week. Love your serving dish.
